On the occasion of the 2011 Topten Global Workshop, which will be jointly hosted by TopTen USA and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Embassy of Switzerland organizes a networking reception. The Topten International Group is a coalition of organizations in nineteen countries dedicated to identifying and stimulating consumer demand for the most energy-efficient products.

Apart from consumer information, Topten provides governments and policymakers with policy recommendations based on its expertise on high-efficiency products. Leaders of Topten organizations in the United States, Europe and China will attend and are expected to be joined by representatives from government, manufacturers, utilities, retailers and NGOs.

Founded in Switzerland in 2000, TopTen exemplifies Switzerland’s position as a leader in energy efficiency with a passion for stimulating innovative ideas and approaches in that field. As an illustration, in the U.S. TopTen-listed products typically use over 50% less energy than required by government standards.

Exchanging views and experiences on ways to promote energy efficiency will lead to more informed and creative policy-making in both the United States and Switzerland. Therefore, we hope that you will be able to participate in this event and share your invaluable insights on this important topic.
