Switzerland Served as Patron of the Prevent Cancer Foundation’s Annual Spring Gala
The Prevent Cancer Foundation held its 18th Annual Spring Gala at the National Building Museum on March 9, 2012. This year Ambassador of Switzerland Manuel Sager and his wife, Mrs. Christine Sager, served as honorary patrons. The theme Modern+Majestic=Switzerland, which reflected Switzerland’s mountains and lakes in beautiful shades of blue, was conceived and designed by foundation board member and acclaimed celebrity party planner David Tutera. Alphorn players, flag throwers and Swiss Embassy staff members in traditional Swiss costumes brought an authentic touch of Switzerland to the evening.
The Embassy of Switzerland was honored to assist the foundation in its continuous efforts to support cancer research and direct service programs to medically underserved communities. In his speech, Ambassador Sager expressed his and his wife’s profound appreciation to the board of the foundation for their very important work and their contribution of 84 cents of every dollar raised to the foundation’s programs. He also expressed his pride in Switzerland’s role in medical research and the ongoing fight against cancer.
